The "Sex and the City" Experiment

Apr. 1st, 2011 04:15 pm People Are Stupid

I was reading a review on a new NookBook I was considering buying today. This is actually a collection of seven novellas, and is shown as a collection of seven stories. As I was reading the customer reviews, I notice several angry looking reviews. These people are upset because they purchased the NookBook thinking it was seven full books for five dollars. Every one said something about lying or misadvertisement. I'm pretty sure people need to learn their story types. It very clearly says that the book is a collection of novellas, NOT books.

People are stupid, that is all.

Dec. 9th, 2010 09:31 pm Looking up :)

So in an attempt to actually begin blogging again, here is an update.

One year ago today, Zach and I broke up. And it's good to say that there is no longer pain. I am also happy to say that we are friends. On that note, tomorrow a friend and I are having what he calls a liberation party. Which will involve alcohol, board games and movies. It is going to be a blast and I am excited.

This friend... I really like him. We met in July. And he's sweet.

I now work two jobs, one retail and one "real" job in an office. As of today, I have been promoted at the office job. I am very excited about where my life is going overall... I really can't believe how in the last few months my entire life has made turns for the best. I feel very blessed.

And it's the holiday season. I don't think things get much better than this. :)

Nov. 23rd, 2010 08:40 pm Hey guess what...

I'm alive!

Lol, I haven't blogged like at all in almost a year now. And to be honest I don't have a whole lot to say right now either. Life is pretty good, albeit busy. Still dancing. And working two jobs. I think I lost my mind. Let me know if you find it will you?

In memory of family and friends who have lost the battle with cancer; and in support of the ones who continue to conquer it! Post this on your LJ if you know someone who has or had cancer.

93% won't copy and paste this. Will you?

FIRST: If you've been tagged, you must write your answers in your own LJ and replace any question that you dislike with a new, original question.
SECOND: Tag eight sexy people. Don't refuse to do it like a pansy.
Let's see, Sphix, the_turtle, psychoticmilkma and thefugitive are the only ones who haven't done this yet.

Who sleeps in bed next to you?
No one. For now. I hope that space is filled again soon.

What did you last eat?
Food from Chili's. Had dinner there with all my dancing buddies. :D

What kind of books do you read?
I love fantasy books... Right now I'm really feeling the Chronicles of Narnia series.

What are you reading right now?
Vampire series... (NOT TWILIGHT) It's written by LA Banks, but there's no series name... I'm on book four.

If you could lose one habit, what would it be?
I click my fingernails. I don't think it really bugs anyone else, but it chips my polish and that drives me crazy.

What's really creepy?
Uh... Haunted houses?

Name one odd item within five feet of you.
There are three of my bras on my office chair... kinda odd I suppose.

What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
Hmm... The Disney Channel... I recently rediscovered how much I love it.

What did you really want to do today that you didn't?
Um... Get my hair cut... That has been pushed til tomorrow or later this week.

What are you most excited for?
Christmas. I love this time of year, it's full of magic.

What websites do you always visit when you go online?
Facebook. Avon (I'm a sales rep). Mail.

What was the last thing you bought?
Food at Chili's.

What do you want right this minute, off the top of your head?
Coca Cola... Got a major craving right now.

What's your biggest procrastination method?
Video games/TV/computer stuff... I like technology.

Are there any bits of childhood that you miss?
I miss the simplicity of it all. Things can be complicated in adulthood.

Spring, summer, fall, or winter?
Uh, more info? I suppose fall is my favorite season, but winter has two of my favorite events...

Say something to the person who tagged you.
Technically I didn't get tagged, but thanks to Ivan for the inspiration!

Parting is such sweet sorrow. The man I thought I would marry has become a wonderful friend. As painful as this is, I know that it is ultimately for the best. I thank God for blessing me with the ability to be friends with those I have dated. Zach is one of my best friends, and my life wouldn't be the same without him.

He is doing much better. And I am so glad. We will still be friends. We are so close... I have never been able to have a relationship without friendship. So making the transition to friends may be difficult, but we are basically refusing to lose each other. We still have chemistry and we still love each other, but we know that we do not belong together. And we do not want to find out the hard(er) way, so we have decided not to date anymore. It hurts. And it's going to take me awhile to be ready to get serious again, but I have grown so much with him. And even though it hurts so badly right now, I wouldn't change it for the world. He was there for me when it felt like I had no one, and he helped me become who I am today. I will cherish our relationship as a couple and as friends forever.

One week from today is the month mark from the beginning of our break... I am kinda excited, but more nervous... I have felt a lot of peace about this lately. I hope that is a good omen. I just want us to be OK together. And I am still pretty confident about our relationship. I love him and I know that whatever happens, at least he will be OK. And that is the most important thing.

Had a couple bad dreams last night, and a good dream sandwiched in between them... They kinda got to me.

... I miss him. A lot.
